Let’s Flamingle was the theme Rebecca created for her daughter Aria’s first birthday. And what a stunning theme it was, a fun-filled take on a flamingo party destined to leave guests thinking WOW!
The party was set up in an outdoor undercover space allowing Rebecca to centre several different eye catching pieces which pulled the party all together.
First up she created a dessert buffet using a white set of draws. The top draws were semi open and popping with an array of flowers and on top of the buffet was a variety of sweet treats including the birthday cake. If that wasn’t enough to catch your attention it was framed with a wooden stand (made by her clever husband) covered in lush greenery and a pop of flowers as well as a floating wooden name sign. All of this really stood out with an ombre pink back drop that Rebecca and her husband made using Dylon Dye (in Flamingo Pink of course).
How cute are the cupcakes? Rebecca had them made by Vicki Brogan (Newcastle) and the sugar cookies were from Sarahndipity Cakes. Working smart not hard Rebecca roped in the help of her sister-in-law Hannah to create the birthday cake. She opted for a ‘Woolies cake hack’ Isn’t it amazing!
What’s a Woolies cake hack you ask? Simple layering of the pre-made mud cakes from the supermarket, allows you a perfect and delicious base for your cake. Simply scrape back the icing to create the look you’re after and you have a designer cake without all the bake time. (A great option for those who aren’t bakers or have time or kitchen restraints)
There was a separate food table created for hot and cold nibbles. This was draped in a pink sequin cloth (purchased from Ali Express) which really made it sparkle also. Dips, finger food and more sweet treats were on the cards for these guests. No one was left hungry.
All of this was tied together with huge balloon garland in a mix of pinks, peach and white. With the natural light shining behind the balloons they really provided that WOW factor also.
With the celebration being for a 1st birthday Rebecca put together a boho style photo gallery hanging images of Aria via string on a twig. Again coupled with a gorgeous wooden sign and a touch of greenery it captured her little one perfectly.
Rebecca has her own business called Wolfpack & Co and through this created the cake toppers as well as the Aria Sign, Let’s Flamingle sign and the One sign.
Flamingos were scattered throughout the space as a little finishing touch.
Rebecca also threw a cake smash photo shoot for Aria and her sweet cousin. She tied the style adapted for the party in with the photo shoot dressing the girls in gorgeous sequin rompers and sweet boho headpieces to match. Aren’t they just devine!
Well done Rebecca, both you and your husband have put a great deal of work into this flamingo party and it looks amazing.
